What I have been reading

Summer is just flying by and no other way for me to spend my summer than picking up a book and transporting yourself into the world of make believe. Reading is something I truly enjoy not just because it passes time while commuting to school and work (sorry mom, it’s true) but I love reading because it is beneficial for brain development and building your vocabulary ( I know this because I wrote a paper about how reading impacts your learning in my first year English course, so just trust me.)

Since the end of spring semester, I finally had the chance to read the second book of the trilogy To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before from my favourite author Jenny Han, and I truly fell in love with the storyline again. Jenny Han is seriously an author that you should look up and consider reading her books. She has written other books such as the Burn for Burn series co written with Siobhan Vivian and The Summer I Turned Pretty which are books that are on my “what to read next” list.

The reason why I am raving about To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is because IT’S FINALLY COMING OUT IN A MOVIE ( just imagine my excitement at the moment) but seriously I freaked out and had an excitement attack. To add on, I recently found out that they were filming here in my hometown, Vancouver. If you haven’t seen my recent Instagram stories and my flatlay post, you know how excited I was. For those who are just excited as I am, you should follow Jenny Han and Awesomeness Films for updates on the movie. I have been excited since Jenny Han posted an Insta story of her visiting the set.

This photo is also on Instagram so you can check it out over there.

Although I am not currently reading the last book of the trilogy, I have promised myself to explore other genres and authors. In the spirit of Pride Week/ Month in Vancouver, I recently borrowed a book from the library called Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Rainbow Rowell is another author that is also one of my favourites, if you have read Eleanor and Park, you guys would know why. I appreciate the LGBTQ community and support it 1000%. To all my fellow readers in this community, be yourself, ignore all those who wrong you and remember love is love.

Hope you guys have a great week and read on
