January Favourites 2019

Hey guys, it feels really weird that it’s the second month of the year and January just came and went in a blink of an eye. So we all know what that means, it is time for my monthly favourite. I will let you guys know how well I keep up with it however, I am determined to write more on my blog. So here are my favourites for this month.

Starting out with some fashion favourites, I have two fashion items that I have been constantly wearing on repeat for the winter weather and they are the best pieces to wear during these cold months.

I recently posted an Aritzia haul and this piece made it to my favourites it is the Diamond Mosiac Blanket scarf in the colour in Balsamine. Not only could you wear this as a scarf (yes the obvious), I have worn this as a shawl for those cold moments while working in the office and actually used this as a blanket. This scarf is made with 100% wool and it’s one of my fluffiest pieces I have that won’t itch your skin.

Alright for the second fashion favourite, you have seen them in many of my ootds, I cannot live without this fabric in general, and Cassie and Ricci from ToThe9s have mentioned they have worn this piece during their trip in New York; it is the HeatTech line from Uniqlo specifically for me the Extra Warm Long Sleeve. You guys know I get cold very quickly and I tend to layer after to layer until I warm up and at times I look overdressed, or my clothes have eaten me up. I have worn this layer by itself multiple times in my cold office, and I didn’t feel like I was going to catch a cold and for that this long sleeve is my favourite.

Onto to my favourite beauty favourites, I don’t have a ton of beauty products for this month mainly because I have not worn a ton of makeup or needed to put a full face on. Nonetheless, this product that made it on my beauty favourites is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sun Dipped. This palette has four highlighting shades and range from light to dark. The two shades that I have been using the most is Bronzed and Moonshine mainly because I use them as a contour and highlighter respectively.

Next up I have scrunchies. You guys all know how much I love the 90s and I even told you guys that I have been listening to a famous Korean band from that era called RooRa. As a throwback, I have three scrunchies that I have been continuously wearing for this month. I love my telephone cord hair bands a lot, however recently I lost my favourite one, and I needed something to tie my hair back for a quick fix. These scrunchies have been my go to this month, and it’s quite a statement for your hair. Fun fact, I hated scrunchies as a kid because they were so big and bulky and pretty much none of my friends wore them when I was in high school. Also, I was wearing my black one, and my boyfriend called me a “grandma” because of it. Well, I ignored all that negativity, and I can wear whatever the hell I want Okuurrr.

Next up, I have my EOS lip balm, and my Bath and Body Works Hand cream. The winter months take a toll on my skin all the time, and it really hits in when I am in the office. I don’t mean to be graphic, but I do pick and bite dead skin on my lip, and it’s a total bad habit of mine. My EOS lip balm in Peppermint Mocha (a limited edition product ) not only makes my lips feel better but the scent and taste on this little guy will never go out of style for me. As for my hands, this Vanilla Bean hand cream from BBW smells excellent and the shea butter on this product really makes my hands smooth and ease the itchiness and pain from the cold, dry air.

Alright, guys, you know my love for Kpop or music in general, I even took an extracurricular course in high school for music. I am adding music favourites for this month. Many of you have seen that I have been doing a 90s throwback week with my ootds because I was inspired by an early 90s band from Korea called RooRa or in hangul 룰라. I pretty much went on YouTube a lot and sang songs like “3,4” and Angel Without Wings, in hangul 날개 잃은 천사.

Last but not least, not a totally weird one but I just wanted to share it with you guys. This favourite is the favourite among favourites since I was in early high school or for my community down south, late middle school. It is the Disney Tsum Tsum game. I know what you are thinking, yes a video game, not a Nintendo Switch game like Smash Brosh, not a PC game like League of Legends, yes an app called/Facebook Messenger game called Tsum Tsums. I recently have been playing Facebook Messenger games with my boyfriend to keep up with each other instead of calling and texting each other every single day. Two games we play together are Draw Something and Big Fish however I was scrolling through the list of games and this game brought so many memories and was so excited that it was now in the Messenger app. I will tell you, once you play you cannot go back and you really feel like a kid again.

Well that is my favourites in this month, leave in the comments what you guys have been loving for the month of January and as always, don’t forget to follow me on my blog and Instagram for a dose of petite minimalistic fashion and beauty.

Cheers

-Samantha
